Objective 2: To increase school communication among colleagues and to improve communication with the home. To further strengthen and improve the partnership between the school and parents through communication and involvement.

Rationale: Our school continues in its work with professional learning communities. Staff development island-wide has focused on creating these communities and setting goals. Objective 3: To increase reading and math achievement among our low-income children in grades 2-8.

Rationale: Last year, the Tisbury School made excellent progress in MCAS scores with our special needs children in the areas of math and ELA using an inclusion model brought about through reorganization in staffing. Tisbury School reached AYP goals for the Spring 2010 MCAS in our low-income sub-group of children. To stay on pace with NCLB improvement targets for our sub-groups and aggregates, we will assess the remediation needs of our low-income children and determine the supports needed for individual, low-income children in grades 2-8.
