    Dear Parents,

    For students are to be productive members of the 21st Century workplace, they will beyond the skills of the 20th Century and master those of the 21st Century. The 21st Century classroom has a focus is on producing students who are effective communicators, inventive thinkers, and intelligent technologically.

    During your children's formative years at the elementary and secondary levels, an understanding of technology including Web 2.0 tools will be used that will assist them in their learning over the course of their school experience. New tools arise every day. Some common tools that your children may encounter and use are, but are not limited to:

  • Blogs
  • Google Apps
  • Wikis
  • Podcasts
  • Videos
  • Social bookmarking

    Purposes for using these tools:

  • Creating student-made projects and class projects
  • Commenting on and sharing each other's work
  • Creative writing
  • Practicing listening and speaking
  • Practicing skills and concepts
  • Reviewing and sharing before tests and quizzes
  • Creating map markers and adding words and text to them
  • Creating and sharing online books
  • Creating online or printed posters
  • Sharing classroom events with families
  • Discussing current events

    Your child's safety and security are our number one priority. All websites and tools have been and will continue to be thoroughly examined by experienced educators and are used commonly in education today.   • Student accounts will be created under strict protections and monitoring of all student activity in these educational tools.
  • Everything students make with the tool(s) is subject to teacher approval and/or deletion.
